Sept. 2, 1919 — March 4, 2006
Harold C. Anderson, 86, of Albany died Saturday at a hospital in Yuma, Ariz.
He was born in Ortonville, Minn., the son of John B. and Lucy E. (Holman) Anderson. He was raised in Ortonville and married Theona "Toni" J. Jacobson in Ortonville on June 27, 1942. In 1953, Harold and Toni moved to Washington, and then in 1956, they moved to Albany, where they had been since that time.
In 1959, Harold went to work for Western Craft, now Weyerhaeuser, and stayed until his retirement. After retirement Harold and Toni enjoyed many winters in Arizona and traveling in their RV.
Harold also enjoyed being with family and friends.
Harold is survived by sons Jerry Anderson of Kenai, Alaska, Charley Anderson of Dallas, Rod Anderson of Newport, and Tom Anderson of Albany; daughters Janet Gale of Helena, Mont., and Bonnie Walker of Longview, Wash.; 24 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Theona "Toni" Anderson, and brother Leonard Anderson.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church in Albany, with the Rev. Laurie Lofsvold officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association, Faith Lutheran Church or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Oregon Chapter in care of the funeral home.
