Alfred Anderson of Southeast Portland died of causes related to age Monday in a Portland care center. He was 80.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Ross Hollywood Chapel. Private interment will be in Rose City Cemetery .
Mr. Anderson was born Sept. 12, 1910, in Clinton, Minn. He moved to the Portland area in 1955. A foreman, Mr. Anderson worked for Oregon Steel and Pacific Chain Co. for about 30 years until his retirement about 1970. He had served in the Merchant Marine for three years. His wife, Helen A. Anderson, died in 1968.
Survivors include sons Lee H. and George W., and daughter Sheila E., all of Portland; sisters Henrietta of Portland and Josephine Liebe and Anna Christiansen of South Dakota; and two grandchildren.
The family suggests remembrances be contributions to the Salvation Army.
