Funeral services for Mrs. Lectar O’Quinn, 95, of Tylertown, MS will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Mesa Baptist Church in Tylertown, MS with Bro. Shane Freeman officiating. Burial will be in the Rushing Cemetery in Tylertown, MS.
Mrs. O’Quinn passed away at Diversicare, in Tylertown, MS on Thursday, December 20, 2018. She was born September 05, 1923 in Pike County, MS to the late Henry Hall and Mary Yawn Hall. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Edward O’Quinn and siblings, Harold Hall, Homer Hall, and Kate Carroll.
Lectar was a woman of faith; an active member of Mesa Baptist Church for most of her life. She always put Christ first in all of her decisions and never once put herself before another person. There was never a time when she was not full of smiles and joy and made everyone around her feel better. Her love for gardening, crochet, and frying turkeys has influenced more people than can be counted. Her memories will continue to live on from those whom she passed these skills on to; both locally and around the world.
Survivors include her daughter Sammie O’Quinn; grandchildren of the heart Michael (Ali) Simmons, Rachel (Charlie) Galdino, Jennifer Ravencraft, Jessica (Taylor) Polk, and Nickolas Boshart; great grandchildren of the heart Dawson Herzberg, Rowland simmons, Gianna Galdino, Kailey Galdino, Hadley Galdino, and Paxley Polk; two sisters-in-law Faye Hall and Iva Stewart; and a host of nieces, nephews, and loving family.
Pallbearers will be Bo Hall, Johnny Hall, Robert Hall, Adam Slaughter, Chat Stringer, and Matthew Stringer. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Hall, Mark Johnson, Joe Laimore, Chuck Lindsay, Rick Lyon, Kenny Scianna, John Simmons, Alan Stringer, Greg Slaughter, and Edwin Stewart.
Visitation will be at Mesa Baptist Church in Tylertown, MS on Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 1:00 P.M.
