Funeral services for Dean A. (Huskie) Routh will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at St Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Philip Lewison will officiate. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4 until 8 at the Friedrich Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St Peter Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the New Richland American Legion.
Dean died Monday evening, Feb. 12, 2007, at his home in New Richland. He was 57 years of age.
Dean was born July 19, 1949 in Albert Lea, the son of Ray and Dorothy (Amundson) Routh. He was a graduate of New Richland High School and the Albert Lea Vo-Tech.
Dean was united in marriage to Mary Evenson on July 21, 1978, at St Peters Lutheran Church in New Richland. He lived his entire life in Waseca County with the exception of one year in Alaska. St Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church was his home church where he served on the Church Council and was active as an usher.
Dean served his country in the US Navy serving in Viet Nam He had been self employed as the owner of Routh Trucking LLC, and was actively engaged in farming.
Dean was a member of the New Richland American Legion, the OOIBA (Owner Operator Independent Driver Association) and HOG (Harley Owners Group). He loved to ride his Harley, work on vintage classic trucks and tractors, spending time out of doors, and the special moments with his family. He lived life following his motto: Life Is Good
Dean is survived by his wife Mary of New Richland, children; Alison and her husband Jesse Nelson of Kerkhoven, Rusty and Adam of New Richland. Also surviving is his father Ray Routh of New Richland, sisters; Sally Routh of Belleview, Wash., Barbara (Gordie) Anderson of Lake Crystal, brothers; Dennis (Joyce) Routh of New Richland, David (Paula) Routh of New Richland, Scott (Julie) Routh of New Richland, Mitch (Suzy) Routh of New Richland, Kelly (Lori) Routh of Hartland, and Kip Routh of New Richland. There is one sister in law; LeAnn (Curt) Fuchs of Faribault, Father and Mother in law; Winston and Lorraine Evenson of New Richland, numerous nieces and nephews.
Dean was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy.
