      HAWKINS – Funeral services for Maxine Deane Downey, 86 of Hawkins will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 12, 2015, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Hawkins with Bro. Zachary Tunnell officiating. Interment will follow at Hawkins City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins.

      Mrs. Downey passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015, in Tyler. She was born on June 23, 1929, in Houston to Melton and Vergie Hoskins Ellis. Mrs. Downey was a legal secretary and a very active member at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Hawkins.

      She is survived by her son, Brian Downey from Arizona; sisters, Vadys Ross and Doris Harding of Hawkins, Bettye Bretzke of Auroa, CO, Barbara Hunter of Hawkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

      Mrs. Downey was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Downey; sister, Mary Seiler; and four brother in laws.

      Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until time of service, Monday, October 12, 2015 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Hawkins.
