Mabel Cowie died in Montana
Mabel B. Cowie, 80, a retired seamstress and former resident of this area, passed away Sunday, August 26, 1979 at a Great Falls, Mont., nursing home.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, August 28, from Croxford and Sons Chapel, Great Falls, with Rev. Ron Barth officiating. Burial was in the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery, rural Coulee, with Pastor Donald Burton officiating at graveside service.
Honorary bearers were Edwin Jenson, Clarence Sweet, Boyd Wolverton, Bill Garberg, Stan Kushnak and Allen Workman.
Born in Iowa, she grew up in North Dakota and operated a grocery store in Coulee, ND. She went to Great Falls, Mont., in 1946. She married Alfred B. Davick at Stanley, who died in 1941. She married Leslie Cowie, who died in 1978.
She worked as a seamstress and did alterations for the Ideal Laundry and Sun Cleaners. After her retirement in 1961, she continued dressmaking and did alterations at her home before moving to the nursing home.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. (Donna) Carl W. Olson, Kenmare; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
