Peder Valdemar Rassumson Davick was first of eight children born to Kari Abrahamsdatter Lein and Rasmus Pedersen Davick (Norwegian immigrants) He was born Feb. 5, 1864 in Davick, Norway on his parent's farm. Peder was christened on Feb. 9, 1894. At the age of 18 on April 21, 1882 he immigrated to America 4 years before his parents came to America. Peder was unmarried and listed as a farmer's son. He had a prepaid ticket on National Linie. He traveled with a fellow Davik parish member, Ole H. Andersen.
He first settled first in Sanborn County, South Dakota . He applied for his U.S. naturalization papers in March 25, 1885.
In Aug. of 1886 in Nebraska, he married Christiana (Kristiana) Lefdahl born Aug.17, 1861 in Nordfjord, Norway.
Four years later, Peder and Christiana moved to Almond, Big Stone County, MN , then he moved to Clinton, Big Stone County, Clinton, MN and lived on a rented farm for 3 years before they moved to Crowfoot Township, Mountrail County where he homesteaded 160 acres of land. He moved his family in 1902 via train from Clinton, MN to Kenmare, ND and then on to Mountrail county.
Peder died April 12, 1947 in Stanley, ND at the home of his third born son, Peter, in Stanley, ND and is buried at Bethlehem Lutheran, Coulee, ND.
Peder and Christiana had eight children:
