      Rasmus Pedersen Davick (56) was the third of five children born to Peder Abelsen (Davik) (1803 -1875) and Anne Rasmusdatter (1810 -1883) He was born Sept. 26, 1839 in Davik, Norway.

      Rasmus married Kari Abrahamsdatter Lien, born Dec. 17, 1837, daughter of Abraham Christenson Lien(1806-1893) and Valborg Jorgensdatter Aase (1804-1856).

      On Ap. 12, 1886 Rasmus, Kari and three of their children (Jacob 9 yrs., Albert 4 yrs. and Anna 1 yr.)immigrated to America. They left Bergen, Norway and traveled on the Thingvalla ship to New York City. From there they made their way to Sanborn County, South Dakota where Rasmus and Kari homesteaded.

      Kari and Rasmus had eight children. All were born in Davik, Norway.
