At an Old Settlers picnic at Lemmon in 1940 she met Donald Lillehaug and on September 6, 1942, in Mott, ND, they were married. In late 1942 Donnie was called to active service in the Air Force. Ollie traveled with him working in various occupations while living off base. When she learned she was pregnant she moved to Elgin, ND and gave birth to her daughter Judith Lillehaug. On that same day Donnie was shipped overseas and stationed near London, England. March 6, 1944 Donnie was killed in a bombing raid over Berlin, Germany.
