Norma Ardell (Tweit) Sea, 87 passed away at home surrounded by family on Sunday, June 17, 2012 in Everett, Washington.
She was born February 5, 1925 in Bellingham to Norman and Alice Tweit. Norma grew up in Bellingham and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1943.
Shortly after graduation, Norma met and married the love of her life, Wilbur "Red" Sea. Norma and Red met on a blind date, and were married on July 16, 1944. They raised their three children in Everett, and enjoyed 68 wonderful years of marriage.
Norma's love for cooking began early while helping her mother Alice in the family kitchen. Her mother Alice cooked in the Bellingham School District all her life, and Norma followed in her mother's footsteps. Norma cooked in the school kitchens in the Everett and Marysville School Districts. She worked in food service for 28 years, and retired in 1985.
As a couple, Norma and Red were active members in the Everett Bowling Leagues, American Legion and Auxiliary Post #6 in Everett, cooked weekend meals for campers at Thousand Trails for 13 years and traveled across country in their RV. They took dancing lessons, regularly played cards with friends, and enjoyed many campfires with family. They always made time for family and friends, and dinner was always at the table.
Norma loved to spend time in her garden; her favorite flower is the rose. She loved to entertain and be the hostess for her family and friends, which often included time in the music room singing and playing the piano and organ.
She was an active member at Central Lutheran Church and enjoyed time with her church circle. She was a loving and supportive wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Norma was kind, gracious and thoughtful.
She is survived by her husband, Red; sister, Phylis "Eloise" Rall and brother Gordon Tweit; three children: Mike Sea (Patty), Marilee Richards and Linda Sea Lavergne; two nieces, Cindy Rall and Mary Jo and (Clark) Wilkins; seven grandchildren: Ken Richards, Thom and (Jenn) Sea, Karen and (Robert) Gibson, Ric and (Victoria) Grote, Kimberly Richards, Tracie Sea and Michael Anthony Grote; three great-nephews/niece Travis and (Lucy) Wilkins, Britt and Addison Wilkins; 13 great-grandchildren; and many more loving family members and friends.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Norma's life will be held on Saturday, June 23rd at 1 p.m. at Central Lutheran Church, 2702 Rockefeller Ave, Everett; reception to follow. Visitations will be held on Wednesday June 20th from 9 to 6 and Thursday June 21st from 9 to 8 at Solie Funeral Home, 3301 Colby Ave, Everett.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Central Lutheran Church or your preferred charity.
