Elmer Lloyd Erickson was born on October 6, 1915, to Karl and Suzanne (Welter) Erickson. He graduated from Lane High School in 1933 and farmed with his father.
On October 27, 1941, Lloyd was united in marriage to Dorothy Lillehaug at Solberg Lutheran Church. He was the manager of Fruen Elevator in Lane for three years and continued farming until Lloyd and Dorothy moved to Wessington Springs in 1996. He lived on the same farm for fifty years.
Lloyd was treasurer of Lane School for 16 years before the school closed. He was also treasurer of Solberg Lutheran Church for many years and he served on the Jerauld County Hospital Board for several years. He was also sexton of the Solberg Cemetery for many years. Lloyd was an avid sports fan, especially basketball, and was well know for his wonderful sense of humor.
