Memorial services for Glenn Oscar Koym, 65, of East Bernard were held Sunday, May 6, 2001 from the Leveridge Pavilion at the Methodist Cemetery in East Bernard.
Glenn was born to Henry Herman and Lena Sabrsula Koym in 1935 in East Bernard. He was raised in East Bernard and attended East Bernard Public Schools, WCJC where he was Phi Beta Kappa, and Texas A&M, class of 1958. After college he was the farm reporter for Channel 2. Around 1970, he operated Bearcreek Furniture in Houston. Upon retiring, he chose to return to East Bernard to be the primary caretaker of his mother. Glenn Koym died May 4, 2001 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his mother, Lena Koym; son, Timothy Koym and wife, Theresa; grandchildren, Lauren, Erin, and Nicholas Koym; sister, Joy Balderach; brothers, Donnie Koym and wife, Janice, and Hank Koym and wife, Melba; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his father Henry Koym.
