L.D. was born in Wallis, Texas on 21 February 1930 to William and Emma Wasicek. He grew up in that area and met his wife, Annie Marie Vancik, in high school. They were married on November 2nd, 1949 in Sealy, Texas, and were married for 65 years at the time of Ann's passing.
L.D. and Ann called Victoria home since 1954 where they raised their three boys; Larry, Bill and Mike and their daughter Kathy. He opened All Star lumber yard in 1961 and later developed the Brentwood Subdivision and Hidden Valley Subdivision. He was also engaged in residential construction and numerous other business activities in the area. L.D. was an active member in the Church of Christ throughout his adult life and could often be seen around Victoria enjoying visiting with his many friends and colleagues. Through the years L.D. also enjoyed flying small aircraft, cattle ranching, traveling and fishing.
L.D. is survived by his children, Larry and wife June Wasicek, Bill and wife Bonnie Wasicek, Michael and wife Jan Wasicek and Kathy and husband David Bays as well as eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren as well as and other family and friends.
L D was preceded in death by his wife, Ann M Wasicek, His parents William J Wasicek and Emma Sabrsula Wasicek of Sealy, Texas; his brother William J Wasicek of Hempstead, Texas and his granddaughter Kristina Wasicek.
Friends are cordially invited to gather with the family during a visitation from 9-10 am on the 16th of February 2024 at the Central Church of Christ with the funeral service to be conducted at 10 am. Graveside services will be immediately after the funeral at Memory Gardens Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his wife.
