Funeral services for Erwin Alfred Petrusek, 86, of Sugar Land, Texas, 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 28, 2010, at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel, 768 Fourth St. in Sealy, TX, with Rev. Michael Groseclose officiating. Interment in the Sealy Cemetery. Pallbearers: members of the Wallis American Legion. He was honored by the Wallis American Legion with a full military service at the graveside. Visitation 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm Sunday, June 27, 2010, at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel, 768 Fourth St., Sealy, Texas 77474. Mr. Petrusek passed away in Sugar Land on Friday, June 25, 2010.
Edwin Alfred Petrusek was born in Frydek, Texas to parents, Frank and Johana Sabrsula Petrusek. He was raised in Wallis and graduated from Wallis High School in 1941. Erwin played on the Wallis Football High School Team on defense and offense. He married the former Miss Betty Ansel on December 29, 1948 in Rosenberg, Texas. He served our country during WWII in the U.S. Navy. Erwin worked as an electrical contractor for many years. Mr. Petrusek was a Presbyterian by faith and a member of the Wallis American Legion.
Survivors include his daughter, Sharon Kay Anderson and husband, Ray, of Marietta, Georgia; son, Erwin Ansel Petrusek and wife, Carol, of Sugar Land; sisters, Irene Neshyba and husband, Steve, of Corvallis, Oregon, Ruth Jurik and husband, Johnnie, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Todd Bradley Anderson, Raymond Anthony Anderson and wife, Melissa, Elizabeth Johanna Evans, Matthew Evans , Lara Caitlin Elio and Benjamin; great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Erin, and Jenalyn Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Johana Petrusek; wife, Betty Petrusek; and brother, Benjamin Petrusek.
