Funeral services for Charlene Anderson, 80, of Needville, TX, are set for 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at First Presbyterian Church, 1400 Radio Lane, Rosenberg, TX 77471, with Rev. Rhonda Detenbeck and Rev. Charles Teykl officiating. Burial will follow in Davis Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX 77471. Visitation will be 5 - 8:00 PM Monday, April 22, 2019, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471. Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Parr, Joshua Parr, Nick Parr, Joseph Anderson Jr., Blake Anderson, Jeff Rainosek, Justin Grudziecki, and Raynor Kumaga.
She was born Charlene Annette Teykl on August 9, 1938 in Needville, TX to Frank Teykl and Emily Jan Teykl. She died April 19, 2019 in Needville, TX. Charlene owned Custom Creations Drapery in Richmond, making custom drapes for 35 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. When she was asked to be a lay minister for the First Presbyterian Church in Rosenberg and The Presbyterian Church in Brady, TX, she loved the time spent working on her sermons. Charlene enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with her husband at their ranch in Brady, TX. She also enjoyed meeting with her "chicks of 56" for lunch.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Emily Teykl, and by her brother, Irvin Teykl.
Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Joe Anderson; sister, Pearlene Tielke and husband Johnnie; brother, Frank Teykl Jr. and wife, Sandra; children, Diana Parr and husband, Maurice, Jeanne Parr, Joseph Anderson and wife, Melissa, and Steve Dernehl and wife, Shirley; grandchildren, Brandon Parr and wife, Heidi, Joshua Parr and wife, Liz, Amanda Anderson and significant other, Terry McNeil, Ashley Rainosek and husband, Jeff, Lauren Grudziecki and husband, Justin, Jacki Kumaga and husband, Raynor, Nick Parr and wife, Amanda, Joseph Anderson Jr. and wife, Whitney, and Blake Anderson; 8 great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jackson Rainosek, Collin Grudziecki, Joshua Rocky Parr, Kinsley and Wyatt Parr, Raleigh Kumaga, and Audrey Anderson.
