JOHN DANFORD TERRY, 82, passed away Friday, May 14, 2004 after a lengthy illness. John was a 1942 graduate of Texas A & M University. He worked for Dresser Industries until he retired in 1986. He was a veteran of World War II where he discovered his love of flying. For many years he spent Saturday flying small planes. John was a member of First United Methodist Church, Fidelis Sunday School Class, Pioneer Oil Producers Association and Brookshire Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents John Gleaves and Zella Mae Terry, first wife Margaret Rose and granddaughter Vanessa. Mr. Terry is survived by his wife Anna Ruth Griffin Terry; daughter Margaret Cranford; son John D. Terry, Jr.; brother Joe Terry and eleven grandchildren. Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 4 until 6 in the afternoon on Sunday, May 16, 2004 at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Monday, May 17, 2004 in the Jasek Chapel at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive with Rev. David Snowden officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
