Adelle Marek, age 98 years, 7 months, and 14 days, traveled to her heavenly home on November 7, 2012. She was born March 24, 1914 to the late Leopold and Anna Jan. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed collecting recipes and Christian song music. The Lord was her life, and she was an active member of the Six-Mile Presbyterian Church until her illness prevented her from attending.
She is survived by her daughter Annette Baker and husband Darrell, of Port Lavaca, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Rudolph John Marek, a carpenter; sisters Rosie Kalina, Emily Teykl, Marcella Sabrsula and Leontina Jan; brothers Orville Jan, Alvin Jan, Emil Jan and Lumir Jan.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 9, 2012 from 6-8 pm, at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the Six-Mile Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 8, 2012 at 2 pm, with Bruce Goodlock, CRE officiating, followed with the burial at Six-Mile Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Marek, Gene Marek, Frank Teykl, Perry Geryk, John Kabela and Danny Jan.
Honorary pallbearers are Anna Kabela, Freda Eskew, Lorene Pustejovsky, Mary Allison and Odette Wardlaw.
Memorials may be made to Six-Mile Presbyterian Church, Six-Mile Cemetery Association or Hospice of South Texas.
