Bennie R. Knutson, age 89 of Benson, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Swift County Benson Hospital in Benson, the result of a heart attack.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls, with Intern Pastor Matthew Rose Officiating. Burial will be in St. Pauli Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
Bennie R. Knutson was born June 19, 1918, in Camp Lake Township, Swift County, Minnesota, the son of Robert R. and Bertha (Strand) Knutson. He was baptized and confirmed by Rev. Beito at St. Pauli Lutheran Church. Bennie grew up on the family farm in Camp Lake Township and attended school at District #14. He farmed his entire life.
Bennie was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Swift Falls, and served as an usher for many years. Among the things he enjoyed were mowing the yard, watching the birds and cars, telling stories, going to the movies at the DeMarce Theatre, and Norwegian food.
Bennie is survived by his twin brother, Rudolph Knutson of Benson; his sister, Elizabeth Freese of Benson; three nieces and one nephew.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert and Bertha; and sisters: Rose Skarsten, Alma Lundquist, Gena Johnson, and Ruth Svor.
Arrangements are with the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.
