Eloise Ramsey Bjornson, age 68, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 31, 2008.
Eloise was born October 18, 1939, in Memphis, Tenn., to the late Morgan Jones Ramsey and Kathryne Prewett Ramsey. She was an ac-complished dancer, performing professionally with The American Ballet Theatre for three years before beginning her family. Eloise was a wonderful mother, an immaculate housekeeper, and an exceptional cook. A brilliant interior decorator, she loved helping people enhance their surroundings. Eloise enjoyed extensive travel with her husband Bj. She amassed a huge and varied collection of elephants. She was an avid gardener who loved plants and flowers. Well known for her dynamic dinner parties, she treasured family gatherings most of all. Family and faith were the foundation of her life. Eloise was a devout Roman Catholic, a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, and enriched her faith experience by making three pilgrimages to Fatima, Portugal.
Eloise is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Bj Bjornson; son, Lt. Col. Skip Blumenthal, his wife Rev. Missy Blumenthal, and their children, Billy and Bonnie of Warner Robins, Ga.; daughter Katie Blumenthal Stalker, her husband Mark, and their children Nicole and Kevin of St. Petersburg Beach, Fla.; son Chris Blumenthal, his wife Kellie of Destin, Fla.; stepdaughter, Laura Bjornson Chastine, her hus-band John, and their daughter Kira of Gainesville, Fla.; brother Eddie Ramsey, his wife Sally, and their children Rusty, Kenny, Sandy, and Jamie of Memphis, Tenn. Last, but certainly not least, is her faithful and furry companion, Peaches.
Eloise was preceded in death by her grandson, Morris C. "Tad" Blumenthal IV, and stepson, David Fred Bjornson.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Cherup as celebrant. Interment will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
