      The memorial service for Catherine M. Frojen will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Oakes, with Pastor Jerome Swanson officiating. Burial will be at the Oakes View Cemetery, near Oakes. Catherine Marie Lanahan, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Love) Lanahan was born on February 14, 1934 at Chester, Pennsylvania, where she grew up and attended school. Catherine lived and worked in Las Vegas, Nevada, before moving to Oakes, North Dakota in 1986. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Frojen on October 14, 1994 at Oakes. The couple lived in Oakes, where Catherine worked at the Oakes Good Samaritan Center. Lloyd died on May 1, 1996. Catherine continued to live in Oakes and retired from the manor in 1998. She enjoyed listening to music and collecting angels. She loved to play bingo and spending time with her extended family and friends. Catherine died on Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Oakes Community Hospital. She was 73 years old. She is survived by two sons, Joe Pogenmiller, Saskatchewan, Canada, and Steve (Meredith) Gray, Las Vegas, NV; one daughter, Melissa Jewett, Newark, NY; two step-sons, Steve Frojen, Oakes, ND, and Michael (Cynthia) Thornton, CO; three step-daughters, Maureen (Dick) Schmidt, Clara City, MN, Lorraine Frojen, Baltimore, MD, and Joan (Paul) Nyhus, Roberts, WI; her special friends Dee (Dave) Dietz; four grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd and one son Marty.
