Krotz Springs. Louisiana
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019 for Jimmy A. Kemp at First Baptist Church in Krotz Springs. Brother Chad Bolfa will officiate the services.
Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Krotz Springs on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. – until the time of services.
Jimmy A. Kemp, age 73 and a resident of Krotz Springs, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at his residence.
Jimmy loved giving back to his community and cooking for local benefits. He lived for his family and loved spending time with them. Jimmy worked at Kelly’s Tavern for over 20 years where he was known to many as “Uncle Jimmy”. He was friends with many and never met a stranger. Jimmy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his dog, Zoie.
He is survived by his daughters, Anna Savoie and her husband, Michael, Penny Bearb and her husband, Scott, Jeanette Kemp and Jamie Kemp; sisters, Debbie Martin and her husband, Jim, Cynthia “CT” Mires, Carol Ray and Sue Kemp LeBlanc and her husband, Johnny; grandchildren, Michael Savoie, Tricia Burke, Major Duthu, Jim Kemp, Roman Savoie and Tristan Bearb; great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Burke, Layla Duthu, Weston Myers and Aiden Savoie; and mother of his children, Pat Kemp.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack Everett Kemp and Joyce Kimble Kemp; brother, Mack Kemp; daughter, Tricia Joyce Kemp; nephew, Lil Mack Kemp; great-nephew, Adam Roy Williamson.
Pallbearers will be Dubby Johnson, Doug Johnson, Dale Scotten, Carroll Snyder, Duke Landry and Doug Kelley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to them to help defray funeral costs.
