Elmer Kolseth, 75, died on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at his home in Wyandotte Township, Pennington County, MN.
A private funeral service will be held with burial following at the Clearwater Cemetery, rural Pennington County, according to his wishes.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at the Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.
Elmer Christ Kolseth was born on June 27, 1929 to Peter and Sarah (Magnuson) Kolseth in Wyandotte Township, Pennington County, MN. He was baptized in the Lutheran Faith and confirmed at St. Pauli Lutheran. He attended District 125 Country School in Wyandotte Township and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in 1948. Elmer grew up on the family farm, leaving to work in Chicago at International Harvester from 1956 to 1960.
Elmer was united in marriage to Linda Carolyn Iverson on September 26, 1959. Elmer continued to farm and also worked at Arctic Cat Enterprises from 1967 to 1976. He farmed all of his life, and in the past few years with his son.
Elmer loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed hunting, but his greatest joy came from farming. In his early years he also liked playing his accordion for dances.
Elmer is survived by his wife Linda, four children: Janice (Bob) Johanning, Dale (Carol) Kolseth, Brenda (Randy) Brekkestran, Melissa (Duane) Parsley all of Plummer, MN; eight grandchildren, Ashley & Nicole Johanning, Josh & Natalie Brekkestran, Lisa Kolseth, Gus Bruggeman, Max & Sam Parsley, one sister Marie Gross of Chicago, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Carl.
