Bates, Ruth A. age 79 of Waconia passed away on Thursday October 27, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waconia.
Memorial service held on Saturday November 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church in Waconia with a gathering of family and friends 1 hour prior to the service at church.
Ruth was born on August 2, 1932 in Lester Prairie the daughter of Everett and Laila (Larson) Kuhlman. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. On October 4, 1952 Ruth was united in marriage to Charles W. Bates at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.
Ruth was a loving wife, mom and grandma. She liked following politics and enjoyed a good debate. Socializing with her friends from all of the different cities she lived was very pleasing to her. After every conversation she would end with I love you.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Everett and Laila Kuhlman.
Ruth is survived by her loving family: husband Chuck; sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Nancy Bates of Lester Prairie, Tim and Laura Bates of Minnetonka, Joe Bates of Minneapolis; grandchildren Lucas Bates, Anna Bates, Evan Bates; sisters and brothers-in-law Lyn and Steve Hahn of Mayer, Sandy and Bill Drew of Mayer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jack and Joan Bates of Duluth, Nancy and Harold Haugen of Roseville, Danny and Gerie Bates of Willmar; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
