Fort Bend Herald, March 21, 2017:

Egbert Louis Petrusek, 82, of Rosenberg, passed away on March 17, 2017, alongside his family at home in Rosenberg, TX.

Louis (Bert) Petrusek was born in Brenham, TX to Reuben and Bessie Petrusek on October 7, 1934. Bert graduated from Orchard High School in 1951. He continued his education at Wharton County Junior College, earning an Associate in Arts degree in 1953. Finally, he graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a teaching degree.

Bert married Dorothy (Stade) Petrusek on April 10, 1953 at the Brethren Church in Rosenberg, TX.

Bert was a lifelong educator. He taught public school for 36 years, and retired from Wallis-Orchard ISD in 1991. He drove a school bus, taught school, and worked at the Tavener Gin during the summers. He always had stories to tell everyone, and he never met a stranger. Bert greeted everyone he ever met with a smile, a quick sense of humor, and he always made a lasting impression. He continued to teach, inspire, and tell jokes until he went home to be with the Lord.
