      Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory.

      Mr Smith was born in Snyder. He was a custodian at ACU for seven years and was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.

      He was preceded in death by his father, Weldon Allen Smith and a brother, Raymond Smith.

      Survivors include his mother, Flora Smith of Abilene; a daughter, Rebecca Greggs of Abilene; two brothers, Noah Smith of Abilene and Charlie Smith of Merkel; one sister, Nancy Bilbrey of Merkel; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
