Joan Gloria (Anderson) Juen was born December 30, 1938 to Raynard and Hannah (Hokenson) Anderson. Joan passed away peacefully on June 4, 2017. Joan attended Sebeka High School where she met the love of her life, Dietrich “Dick” Juen. They married on June 6, 1956. Joan and Dick were blessed with four children: Paul Juen of Dent, MN, Valerie Henn of Menahga, MN, Benita Juen of Verndale, MN and Adam (Dawn) Juen of Frazee, MN.
Joan worked a variety of jobs throughout her life including waitressing, being a nurse’s aide and turkey farming. She loved to hunt, dance, take care of her garden, spend time with friends and family and most of all be with her beloved cats.
Preceding Joan in death were her parents; her husband Dick; her five brothers; and one sister.
Surviving Joan are her four children; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her two sisters Myrna Trweda and Dolores Athey; many, many nieces and nephews; and her cat Twitter.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 10 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vergas, MN. Pastor Del Stohs will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
