Waterford, California - Romona Dee King passed away in Hughson Ca on July 16, 2023. Dee was born on April 19, 1939 to Peter Risoen and Daisy Cusey Risoen in Minneapolis , Minnesota. She was the youngest of 7 children and was nicked named Dee Dee. The family moved to Hickman Ca in 1946 when Dee's father was hired by Max Foster of Foster Farms. Dee loved growing up on the farm in Hickman. Dee enjoyed all sports in grade school and in high school. She graduated from Hughson High in June 1957 and Modesto Jr College in 1959 with an AA degree. She met her husband Joe King, when she was a friend of his sister. Joe and Dee dated 4 years before they were married. They bought a house in Waterford where they raised their 2 children Joey and Britta, along with their 3 grandsons Gregory, Michael and David.
Dee worked over 30 years for Modesto Jr College as the Facilities Coordinator and Cheerleading coach.
She is survived by her daughter Britta Villerreal, grandson David Villerreal, sister Joann Siebeck, sister in law Bobbie Martin and many nieces and nephews. She preceded in death by her husband Joe, son Joey, grandsons Gregory and Michael Villerreal, sisters Bobbie Keena and Marylou Holman, brothers, Milt, Ray and Jack Risoen, brother in law Doug King and sister in law Twila York.
A Celebration of Life will be on July 24th at 1 pm at Shelter Cove Church 4242 Coffee Rd Modesto . In lieu of flowers you may donate to Shelter Cove, Community Hospice or Jerry Streeter Ballpark (1508 Duportail Ave Modesto 95355)
