Myrna Louise (Christensen) Christopherson, 82, of Lake Forest,IL passed away on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012.
She was born on March 7, 1930, in Kenmare, ND the third of four children (Llewellyn, Walter, Myrna, Carol) of Walter Carl Christensen and Marie Albertina Davick of rural Kenmare, ND.
Her paternal grandparents were Lars Christian Christensen and Louise Lisette Dorthea Augusta Walther immigrants from Denmark. Her maternal grandparents were Peder Valdemar Rassumson Davick and Christina Lefdahl immigrants from Norway.
Myrna grew up on her paternal grandparent's homestead outside of Kenmare, ND. She attended the University of North Dakota and became a school teacher. She married Weston Christopherson June 8, 1951 in Kenmare, ND. They settled in the Chicago area to raise their three children. Wes died of cancer in 1994. Myrna worked actively on behalf of many civic and charitable organizations around Chicago most notably Reading is Fundamental,board member of the University of Chicago, McCormick Theological Seminary, and the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest. A passionate cook, her Scandinavian dinner parties were a sought after invitation.

2. Mari Christopherson (three children- Frances Armour, Vernon "Jamie" Armour, Mai Morsch)
3. Kari Christopherson m. Chris E. Falls (three children- Maren Douglass, Ingrid Falls and Sofia Falls)
Myrna married widower Leonard "Patton" Kline on Nov. 20, 2000 in Chicago, IL. They enjoyed twelve years of traveling together, and entertaining friends and family before Myrna died.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Weston R. Christopherson; and two siblings, Llewellyn (Lee) David Christensen of Kenmare, ND and Carol Jean Bothun of Bismarck, North Dakota. She is survived by one brother, Walt Curtis Christensen, Jr. living on his farm outside of Kenmare, ND.
Her elegance and timeless grace will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to McCormick Theological Seminary, 5460 S. University Ave., Chicago, IL 60615. Memorial Service 2:30 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest, 700 North Sheridan Rd., Lake Forest, IL 60045. Interment: Myrna is buried alongside her first husband, Weston Christopherson.
