Mrs. Anna Stephenson Wolffarth, 78, of Bay City passed away at Matagorda General Hospital November 24.
She was active in church work and was a member of the First Baptist Church and worked with the Emmanuel Mission. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and past chaplain and member of Petit Chapeau of the Eight and Forty, since 1950.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Joan Borden of Bay City and Mrs. Hazel Bankston of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Bettie Stephenson of Hobbs, New Mexico, Mrs. Vergie Copeland of Artesia, New Mexico, one grandson, Phillip Baxter; one great-grandson and three great-granddaughters. Services were held November 26 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Bay City Funeral Home and interment was at Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were James E. Sowell, Curtis Goodman, Ford A. Bankston, Sims McDonald, Gary Steele, and Dr. Lamar Meadows. Services under the direction of Dick R. Elkins, Bay City Funeral Home.
