William Joseph "Bill" Deyon lifetime resident of Whatcom County, passed away December 5, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was 87. Bill was born August 12, 1915 in Bellingham, WA to John and Anna (Marz) Deyon.
He married Marian Bredal in Bellingham on February 1, 1947. Bill did some commercial painting with his father. He served in the U S Army intelligence 1942-1945 during WW II. His tour of duty was in Europe and North Africa. Bill worked as a carpenter driving piles and building bridges until age 50. He worked for Washington State Parks Marine Division until his retirement. He had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, sport fishing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Deyon and Robert Deyon. Bill is survived by his wife Marian Deyon of Bellingham, WA daughter, Jean and husband Brian Peterson of Bellingham, WA a son, John Deyon and wife Mary of Camas, WA grandchildren, Lee Peterson and Dionne Peterson of Bellingham, WA, David Deyon and Heath Ogden of Camas, WA.
Memorials may be made to Our Saviours Lutheran Church or your favorite charity.
