Fort Bend Herald, September 8, 2006:
Funeral services for Elsie Dvorak Jan, 77, of Damon, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg, with the Revs. Barbara West and Charles Teykl officiating the services. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
Elsie was born May 24, 1929 in Orchard to Anton Dvorak and Mary Dvorak. She passed away Sept. 7, 2006 in Alvin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville B. Jan; her parents, Anton and Mary Dvorak; and her brothers, Louie Dvorak, Oldrich Dvorak, and Leonard Dvorak.
Elsie is survived by son, Danny Jan and his wife, Betsy, of Rosenberg; daughter, Diane Oaks and her husband, David, of Damon; grandchildren, Dayna Langen and her husband, Dane, of Sugar Land, David Ryan Oaks of Damon, Lindsey Jan of Richmond, and Drake Oaks of Damon; step-grandchildren, Elizabeth Klaus of Rosenberg and Tara Klaus of Rosenberg; brother, Charlie Dvorak of Missouri City; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
Pallbearers are David Ryan Oaks, Drake Oaks, Dayton Dvorak, Anthony Dvorak, Victor Grandjean, and Gary Shipman. Honorary pallbearers are Alvin Jan Sr., Bill Galyean, and Willie Prihoda.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Regency Hospice in League City for all their support and care during Elsie's illness.
