Jack Johnson, 77, of Wharton, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2006. He was born May 8, 1929 in Houston to the late Howard James and Alma Rose Merkel Johnson. He was a U.S. Army veteran, retired engineer and consultant with Schlumberger, and a member of St. Paul American Lutheran Church.
Survivors: wife, June Kocurek Johnson; daughters, Margaret Johnson of Pierce and Karen Alford of Wharton; son, Howard Johnson of Beaumont; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Wharton Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, the Rev. Laura Olson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. Wharton Funeral Home, 979-532-3410.
