      David Fred Bjornson, 44, of Destin, passed away unexpectedly Sept. 5, 2006, in a local hospital.
      Born under the rising sun, yet an Irish, Icelandic Viking to the core, he was honest and true to all. He moved to Fort Walton Beach in 1977, attended Choctawhatchee High School and was well known for his achievements on the football field.
      He met his "Sweet 16" Toni in 1980 at Wayside Park. He worked offshore until he moved to Kansas with Toni to attend Allen County Community College. He continued his education at the University of Florida in Gainesville until 1987.
      David and Toni were married on Feb. 28, 1987, in Fort Walton Beach. In December they moved to Navarre and opened Custom Glass Tinting. He owned and operated two shops for 20 years in the Fort Walton Beach area. Presently, he has one shop in Destin close to home.
      He believed if you dream your dreams enough, they do come true.
      A great, smart, proud self-made man, best friend and wonderful husband for 27 years. He meant so much to so many.
      He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Fred and Evelyn Bjornson, Art and Marge Schnarr, and Jim and Jean Scott; a brother-inlaw, Robert Huelsman; and nephew, Jeremy Bower.
      Survivors include his loving wife, Antonia Bjornson of Destin; father, Loren Bjornson and his wife, Eloise, of Fort Walton Beach; mother, Annette Sheringo and her husband, Bill, of Fort Walton Beach; sister and brother-in-law, Laura and John Chastine of Gainesville; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Herb and Marge Huelsman of Shalimar; brothers-in-law, Ron Huelsman and wife, Kathy, of Fort Walton Beach, Rodney Huelsman and wife, Sheral, of Fort Walton Beach, Randy Huelsman and wife, Lisa, of Knoxville, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Debbie Bower of Fort Walton Beach; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
      A celebration of David's life was to be conducted from McLaughlin Mortuary at 1 p.m. today. with the Rev. Monsignor Michael A. Cherup officiating. A memorial service and reception was to follow from 3-5 p.m. at the Elk's Lodge on Okaloosa Island.
      In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mrs. David Fred Bjornson Memorial Fund, 807 Pine Street, Destin, FL 32541.
