      CLARK - Walter "Walt" E. Jacobson, 58, Clark, died Friday, July 2, 2010, in Sioux Falls.

      Funeral services will be today (Monday) at 2 p.m. in the St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Robin Schaunaman officiating. Music will be provided by organist Dorothy Fuller and soloist Kathy Roebke.

      Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

      Visitation will be today (Monday) from noon to 2 p.m. in the church.

      Memorials in his name may be made to Dougherty Hospice House.

      Arne-Weerts Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

      He was born in Ortonville, Minn., Aug. 5, 1951, to Emil and Florence (Schwartz) Jacobson. He attended grade school at Big Stone City and graduated in 1968 from Milbank High School. He continued his education by taking up diesel farm equipment/mechanics at Lake Area Vocational School in Watertown.

      He married Ardella Hanson Aug. 23, 1969, in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Vienna. He was hired by Schmidt Implement as a tractor mechanic and worked there for five years. He also worked at Olson Motors for five years as a mechanic. He owned the gas station in town called "Walt's 66," which he ran from 1979 to 1998. He ended up working for McCains Foods until they closed. He recently worked as an over-the-road trucker for the last seven years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Clark Lions Club.


      He enjoyed working on old cars and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family functions.

      He was preceded in death by one son, Jason.

      Survivors include his wife, one son, his daughters, seven grandchildren, his brothers,and his sisters.
